FAQ — Treasure State Armory

Question 1

What is Treasure State Armory?

Accepted Answer

Treasure State Armory is a small, locally owned and operated, home-based firearm shop in Great Falls, Montana. We have a dedicated retail space inside the home with a separate customer entrance. Because we are a small shop, we provide a more personal, one-on-one buying experience than a traditional retail store.

Question 2

Where are you located?

Accepted Answer

We are located in Great Falls, Montana.

Question 3

Are you open to the public?

Accepted Answer

No. Treasure State Armory is open by appointment only. You must schedule an appointment before visiting the shop.

Question 4

Why are you appointment-only?

Accepted Answer

We are a small, home-based firearm business rather than a traditional storefront. Appointments allow us to give each customer personal attention and have everything ready before they arrive.

Question 5

How do I schedule an appointment?

Accepted Answer

Email is generally the best way to schedule an appointment. You may also text us at 406-272-5679 or call our main line at 406-272-2388.

Question 6

Do you accept walk-ins?

Accepted Answer

No. All visits and firearm pickups require an appointment.

Question 7

When are appointments available?

Accepted Answer

Appointments are generally available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Occasional weekend appointments may also be available.

Question 8

What makes Treasure State Armory different from a traditional gun store?

Accepted Answer

We offer a personal, one-on-one buying experience. We are happy to text back and forth, discuss options, compare models and help tailor a firearm purchase to your needs. We carry very little inventory, so most firearms are ordered specifically for the customer.

Question 9

Do you have firearms available to view in person?

Accepted Answer

Generally, no. We keep very few firearms in stock. Occasionally, we may have a firearm that was recently taken in on trade.

Question 10

Can I schedule an appointment just to research different options?

Accepted Answer

Because we have very little display inventory, an in-person appointment usually is not the best starting point. Text us at 406-272-5679 instead. We are happy to discuss options, compare firearms and provide quotes by text.

Question 11

Do you work with first-time firearm buyers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We are happy to help first-time buyers compare options and better understand what may fit their needs. We do ask customers to complete some basic research before contacting us so we have a useful starting point for the conversation.

Question 12

How can I contact Treasure State Armory?

Accepted Answer

You can contact us through the form on our website, email Jason at Jason@TreasureStateArmory.com, call our main line at 406-272-2388 or text 406-272-5679. Texting is often the easiest way to discuss options and exchange the information needed for a quote.

Question 13

How do I purchase a firearm from Treasure State Armory?

Accepted Answer

Question 14

Can I call or text to request a quote?

Accepted Answer

Our website's Request a Quote form is the best and fastest way to begin. Because we are a very small operation, we are not always able to answer the phone or collect all the necessary information during a call. If you have trouble using the form, call or text us and we will help.

Question 15

Can you provide a quote for a specific firearm?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can provide a quote for nearly any firearm that is available through our distributors. Submit the make, model and other requested details through the Request a Quote form on our website.

Question 16

How long is a quote valid?

Accepted Answer

Quotes are generally valid for 30 days, subject to availability.

Question 19

Can you help me compare different firearm models?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We are happy to compare models and discuss the practical differences between them.

Question 20

Can you help me find a firearm that fits my needs and budget?

Question 21

Do you offer package pricing on firearms, optics and accessories?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally, but package pricing is limited and handled on a case-by-case basis.

We keep only a few firearms on hand at any given time, and most are firearms we recently accepted on trade. Nearly all of our new firearms are ordered specifically for individual customers.

Accepted Answer

Our limited inventory may change from week to week depending on recent trades and sales.

Question 24

Can you notify me when a firearm becomes available?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Special orders are the primary way we sell firearms. We can order nearly any available make, model, caliber, finish or configuration offered through our distributors.

Question 26

How does the special-order process work?

Accepted Answer

Begin by submitting the Request a Quote form on our website. Once we locate the firearm and you approve the quote, we will explain the payment terms and place the order. First-time customers are generally required to pay in full before the firearm is ordered. Returning customers may qualify for different deposit terms based on their established purchase history.

Question 27

How long does a special order take?

Accepted Answer

Most in-stock firearms arrive in less than one week, with many arriving in approximately two to three business days. Timing depends on distributor availability, shipping and other factors outside our control.

First-time customers are generally required to pay in full before we place the order. Established returning customers may be eligible for a 50% deposit or payment when the firearm arrives. We will confirm the applicable terms before placing your order.

Question 29

Are special-order payments or deposits refundable?

Accepted Answer

Generally, no. Special orders are nonrefundable once submitted.

Accepted Answer

We may be able to place an allocation request with a distributor and contact you when the firearm becomes available.

Question 31

We generally do not source discontinued firearms, although we may occasionally be able to search for a difficult-to-find model. Contact us and we will let you know whether it is something we can pursue.

Can you order firearms in specific calibers, finishes or configurations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can order nearly any available configuration offered through our distributors.

Question 33

Can you special-order optics, magazines, ammunition or accessories?

Accepted Answer

No. A special order cannot be canceled once it has been submitted.

Question 36
